The Debate Over Flood Protection in Ohio’s Miami Valley Illustrated Through Political Cartoons

Following the Dayton flood of 1913, a vigorous movement for flood protection developed in the Miami Valley region. This exhibit follows the two-year controversy as told through the political cartoons of the period. The exhibit’s cartoons are taken from MS-128, the Miami Conservancy District Collection. Available in Special Collections and Archives, this collection also contains administrative and technical reports, scrapbooks, and 3500 photographs.

Published in 1909, these colorful and engaging vintage French aviation postcards illustrate the pioneers of aviation with their marvelous flying machines! The exhibit’s postcards are taken from MS-204, the Charles Lewis Collection.
